During the second half of the twentieth century, science and spirituality began moving toward each other in perspective and sharing many of the same ideas. The battle between evolutionists and creationists was leading to the dawning of a new spirituality that utilized scientific fact. It was as if the logical side of humans, which had divorced itself from the intuitive and creative side during the birth of science, started recently allowing a deeper intuitive pattern to invade the space of logic and rationality. The mystic and the scientist were philosophically merging into one being. Could this be the long awaited dawn of the Age of Aquarius?... an age where thought and emotion are married together in a supreme act of symphony. It was a shift to a completely new paradigm of understanding about our reality and our place within it.....a new awakening.....a modern day Renaissance.
Ancient forms of wisdom have been describing cosmological processes in a way that modern physics is now confirming; that is, they both agree on the origin of our universe and its infantile form. In the sacred Kabbalah, it states that reality sprang forth from a singularity, Kether; modern physicists also concur about the origin of our universe from a singularity during the big bang. One of our sacred wisdom schools had the blueprint for creation all along. We just had to wait for our scientific know-how to catch up to balance this intuitive wisdom with logic. Furthermore, many superstring theorists describe our reality as comprising 11 dimensions, just like the eleven "sephira" or dimensions of the "Tree of Life" in the Kabbalah. The sync between ancient wisdom teachings and modern science is now becoming very pervasive. Several books come to mind that do a great job of merging modern physics and spirituality- "Dancing with the Wu Ling Masters" by Gary Zukav, "The Tao of Physics" by Fritjof Capra, and "The Mind of God" by Paul Davies. Each is an excellent source for the marriage of modern science with spiritual wisdom. By experiencing many of these viewpoints, we begin to see how a whole new paradigm of perspective is synthesizing out of the divergent viewpoints of science and spirituality.
It's not hard to understand why the scientific worldview is so cold and devoid of any kind of spiritual ideology. Two discoveries that occurred within the last 120 years became the death knell for any kind of optimism about the human experience or any kind of spirituality within the scientific standpoint. The first was Charles Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection, and the other was Albert Einstein's Second Law of Thermodynamics. Natural Selection stipulated that we came from lower species and have evolved over long periods of time to get to our present stage of evolution. This seemingly ended all questions about any possibility of a creation by God, since it appeared that we were just the result of random mutations. That we evolved from apes and lower species seemed obvious; consequently, most scientists concluded that there could never have been a divine intelligence or creation, and we are just the product of random happenstance. On top of that, the Second Law of Thermodynamics of Einstein clearly made matters seem even darker. It basically stipulated, as the universe ages, it gains disorder and will eventually snuff itself out in a final heat-death. This is the final collapse of space-time, also known as the "Big-Crunch." This basically said mankind was headed for doom without any choice for our long term survival. These two early discoveries seemingly painted a very dismal picture for the human condition, and science, consequently, pronounced God dead.
Despite this development, two scientists came forth to forecast the eventual enlightenment of humanity in a converging Omega Point. The first appeared in the early twentieth century, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. He was a paleontologist by profession and also a Jesuit Priest, an intriguing marriage of the intuitive and logical side of man. He surmised that our current evolutionary tract will terminate in an Omega Point. In his belief, we will achieve complete immortality and unity with God in this singularity. Teilhard believed the earth's layer of life, the biosphere, is extruding a layer of networked global thought, the noosphere. This is apparently manifesting at the present time through our global computer networks. This noosphere is what will evolve towards the ever unified Omega Point. Therefore, both evolution and creationism are actually correct. The Creator was creating evolution!
The modern physicist and cosmologist, Dr. Frank Tipler , believes that life will eventually be replicated in an future Omega Point of transcendence. He believes that we will eventually construct a quantum computer that will control the final collapse of space-time, nullifying the doom-ridden "Big Crunch." He equates this Omega Point/Computer with God, and he says that everyone who has ever lived will be resurrected in it to live a life of eternal bliss. It must be noted; however, Tipler arrived at his notions only through the complete scientific method. He never forced the evidence to fit the theory. In the ultimate irony, Dr. Tipler lived a large portion of his life as an avowed atheist; it is only through his scientific discoveries that he now claims a theological perspective.
One need only take a look at the physical world around us to see the handiwork of a higher mind, for it is very apparent in the intelligent design of our universe. Also, the chance of conditions being right for life by randomness alone is very improbable. The probability of it happening by chance is
1 in 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000!
Chaos theorists have speculated for years that our apparent random universe is in actuality a form of higher order, an order that manifests through our chaos and apparent randomness. Furthermore, the occurrence ofthe number "phi," 1.618, throughout our universe is a manifestation of the intelligent design of our cosmos. "The Golden Ratio", "the phi ratio", manifests in everything from bumble bees, teeth, and shells to our concepts of beauty, the formation of our body, and the composition of our galaxies. This intricate order woven throughout our known universe is an indication of a higher intelligence; it is incontrovertible evidence of a higher mind behind much of our creation.
There are many other great examples of our physical world exhibiting evidence of a higher mind and scientists who have included spirituality into their perspective. Suffice it to say, the opposing viewpoints of science and spirituality have begun to find harmony in existence with one another, especially in the view of many of today's free-thinkers. No longer is it impossible to back up the idea of heaven with hard logical data or to imbue your scientific perspective with spiritual insight. The disparate perspectives of science and spirituality have managed to fuse themselves together and generate a paradigm shift to a whole new level of understanding.

Great Post Jonathan, really stimulating to the mind and spirit. Thank you for posting, I look forward to learning more about the subject matter.
How did you get involved with the study of the Omega point?
Heather
Heather… Thank you for the nice words… I got into the omega point after several shamanic visions I had in the 1990s. I will give a link below to an interview I did with R U Sirius about those visions…
